I prefer to keep all things that I eat or drink as nutritious as possible. I like to challenge myself to see just how many nutrients I can pack into everything I make.
Tonight I’m COLD!
It’s Arizona. It’s been so hot for so long…..
Now winter is here and I’m freezing. It’s that chilled to the bone type of cold. I want to just go home, get my warmest coziest pj’s on and crawl under the covers.
What will I drink tonight? I always drink organic herbal tea, always will 🙂 but I want something different tonight. I’m feeling festive for the season. So it’s gonna be Hot Chocolate.
This Hot Chocolate has to be potent. It has to taste Delicious and it has to give me the nutrients needed to keep my immune system strong this time of year.
So here’s what I came up with that is currently a success in the Sinclair house.
- (before you start) Be sure your ingredients are Organic
- 1 cup Homemade Almond Milk
- 1 tablespoon raw cacao
- 1/2 tsp Cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp Powdered Ginger
- 1/4 tsp Turmeric
- 1 tsp Goji Berry Powder
- 1/2 tsp Blueberry Powder
- 1 tsp Raw Pure Local Honey
Heat all ingredients above until Hot, mixing well as it heats up. Pour it into a cup and drink it. 🙂
So it’s not rocket science. It’s simple to do and you can add, delete or exchange the ingredients for others if compelled.
The ingredients that are most important to this recipe are Milk and Cacao. Sweetener if desired.
There are some really great health benefits to each and every one of the ingredients above. Here’s just a little bit about that. I suggest learning more by doing your own research too.

Ginger – Phenolic compounds of ginger are best known for their effectiveness in resolving stomach issues such as nausea, fights inflammation.
Turmeric – Powerful anti-inflammatory (curcumin is thought to be the primary pharmacology agent in turmeric, studies show it to be comparable to potent drugs such as hydrocortisone and over the counter Motrin)
Goji Berry Powder – used in traditional Chinese Medicine for years, Boost the immune system, protect eyes and an excellent source of Vitamin C
Blueberry Powder – whole body Anti-Oxidant support, Phytonutrients
Raw Pure Local Honey – Helps digestive issues, soothes a sore throat, research shows Raw Pure honey to be as effective as a common over the counter cough medicine ingredient, dextromethorpan.
